This paper is to establish business ethics on the basis of the Bible. Although there is an opinion that the immorality of business stems from the characteristics of business itself, it would rather lie in the lack of manager`s ethical conciousness. The problem of sources on which business ethics is founded has been discussed for a long time, but it is still at issue, because it is related to individual belief. In this paper we try to find the ground of business ethics in Bible. Bible has influenced not only the Western culture, but also every kind of society today, and now Korea has about ten million Christians whose value systems are based on the Bible. So it would be rational to establish the ground of business ethics on the Bible. To do this, we are going to review the main concepts about business ethics in the bible, which we can apply to the business management. Because we think the immorality of business is partly due to the misconcept about business management, we will review them, then redifine some problems in business management in the biblical point of viewl. To apply and practice the business ethics based on Bible, we present Ten Commentments which are familiar to Christians as a guide. Then we discuss some problems to establish business ethics and for further study. |
