본 논문의 목적은 기독교학교가 지향하는 교육 공공성의 내용이 무엇이며, 이러한 공공성의 추구가 우리사회에 어떤 기여를 할 수 있는지를 살펴보는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 위해 본고에서는 교육 공공성에 대한 지금까지의 논의를 정리한 후 이에 더하여 기독교학교가 지향하는 공공성 확보를 위해 실천해야할 세 가지 교육을 제시하였다. 오늘날 우리사회가 잃어가는 핵심적인 공적가치들인 생명존중, 공동체성, 정의, 평화 등을 교육의 목표, 내용, 방법 속에 내면화시킨 영성교육, 공동체교육, 정의와 평화교육은 우리사회의 공공성 확립에 공헌할 수 있을 것이다. 기독교학교의 영성교육은 과도한 물질주의와 현세주의로 인해 소외와 허무 속에 갇혀있는 우리 학교와 사회를 인간내면에 대한 깊은 성찰과 타자에 대한 넓은 이해로 가득한 학교와 사회로 회복하는데 기여할 것이다. 기독교학교의 공동체교육은 개인주의와 경쟁 지상주의에 포획되어 각박해진 우리 학교와 사회를 따뜻하고 화목한 관계가 살아있는 학교와 사회로 거듭나게 하는데 기여할 것이다. 기독교학교의 정의와 평화교육은 우리사회의 시장만능주의와 권력지상주의로 인한 패배자들의 고통과 아픔이 외면당하는 우리 학교와 사회에서 그들을 위로하고 그들이 재기할 수 있는 기회를 제공하는 정의로운 사회를 만드는데 기여할 것이다. |
| 영문 초록 |
The purpose of this paper is to look at what is the content of publicity that Christian schools pursue and what is the contribution of the Christian schools to our society. This paper, for this purpose, has reviewed the discussions of educational publicity so far, and suggested three kinds of education that Christian schools need to practice in order to secure public good. Today, our society is going to lose public core values such as respect for life, a sense of community, justice, and peace. Spiritual education, community education, justice and peace education, in which these core values are internalized, will be able to contribute to the establishment of publicity in our society. Spiritual education of a Christian school will change our schools and society which are struggling with alienation and emptiness resulted from materialism and secularism into the schools and society full of deep reflection on human beings and wide understanding of others. Community education of a Christian school will recover our schools and society which are harsh in the supremacy of individualism and competition to the schools and society full of warm and harmonious relationships. Christian school education for justice and peace will contribute to build a just society which comforts losers and provides them with an opportunity to recover. |
