| 국문 초록 | 이 글의 목적은 월터스토프의 관점에서 평화의 개념을 드러내고 교육의 목적으로서 평화를 논의하는 데 있다. 월터스토프에 따르면, 평화는 정의에 기반을 두고, 신, 자기 자신, 다른 사람과 자연 등 모든 관계 속에서 기쁨을 누리는 것이다. 일반적으로 전쟁이 없는 상태를 평화로 보지만, 정의가 실현되지 않은 상태를 참된 평화라 보기 어렵다. 적극적인 의미의 평화는 ‘정의’ 뿐 아니라 모든 관계 속에서 ‘기쁨’을 포함한다. 월터스토프의 평화 개념은 성경의 두 명령, 즉 문화명령과 자유명령에 바탕을 두고 있으며, 그것은 합리성이나 웰빙의 추구를 넘어서 우주성, 근본성, 적극성을 통하여 보다 총체적인 좋은 삶을 추구한다는 점에서 교육목적으로서 정당성을 갖는다. 교육목적으로서 평화의 교육적 의미는 첫째 교육의 범주가 온 우주를 포괄한다는 점, 둘째 진정성을 기반으로 한 근본적 관계 형성을 교육의 필수요소로 한다는 점, 셋째 교육의 관심사가 올바른 관계 속에서 더불어 살아가는 기쁨을 향유하도록 하는 점에 있다. |
| 영문 초록 | The purpose of this paper is to clarify the concept of peace and to examine peace as an educational aim from the perspective of Nicholas Wolterstorff. According to Wolterstorff, peace involves justice, and delight in his or her relationships with God, oneself, other people and nature. Generally speaking, peace is understood in terms of the state of the absence of war. In Wolterstorff’s view, however, the common notion of peace might be disguised in the light of lack of justice as well as delight in the right relationships. For aim, therefore, peace should cover two essential elements, i.e. justice and delight. Wolterstorff's conception of peace is based on two biblical mandate, i.e. cultural mandate and liberal mandate. The pursuit of peace as an educational aim overcomes the limits of the pursuit of rationality and personal well-being in terms of balance and positive interaction with others. The pursuit of peace as educational aim emplies the followings: enlarging to the whole world; making close relationship with others; enjoying delight which comes from living together. For peace education as an aim, there is the need to explore further tasks: peace education should be studied at both a Korean context and a school level. |
