| 영문 초록 |
The purpose of this paper is to examine the egonomics of our mind. The egocentric mind, described as “Two Minds” in the Bible, shows us where our truest self and self interest might be found. For this, Supercapitalism (2007) by Robert Reich, along with examples of Wal-Mart and stationary shop are used to argue that we need to be “wise as serpents and innocent as doves (Matthew 10:16)” because most of us act out of pure self interest. If we analyze two minds from the perspective of social responsibility, as an economical agent our actions seem to be impure by the self interest. Even though Paul encourages us to live for others in 1 Corinthians 10:24, 33, it is often ignored because we live in a competitive society. This dilemma is analyzed to the level of ethics. Christian identity is tangibly identified in ethics of duty as a Christian. Muhammad Yunus and Amartya Sen, laureates of the Nobel Prize, are introduced as a prototype of living for others. In this paper I argue that Christian truth must penetrate all of our lives, but it is identified in the form of social responsibility. What we believe is verified when we get to be a part of it.
