영문 초록 This paper explores a new way for the education of Christian literature by introducing a case study of the class "Christianity and Literature." It aims at a new method of reading Christian literature for general readers, Christian or non-Christian, as well as students attending the class. In this paper, the concept of `Christian literature` is defined in a broad sense, which includes literary works with Christian points of view and whatever books leading people to the ultimate concern of human existence, let along those works with Christian subjects and characters, and those for missionary purpose. Three specific cases of the class proceedings are analyzed in this paper: "An Alpine Region" by Seungwoo Lee, "The Emptied Place" by Sungil Kim, and the review of musical "The Play" are the subjects. Major points of the class are as follows: The class was proceeded on the basis of active participation of the students. Discussion was the chief tool. The students were divided into small groups, each of which conducted presentation and presided the class, taking turns. To strengthen the student-oriented feature of the class, some minutes were alloted to prayer, praise and association among students. Exams and assignments were intended as extension of learning, and some parts of the evaluation were conducted by students themselves. The final goal of Christian education is to bring students into awareness of God as our Lord, who presides our whole lives. Christian literature poses questions and searches for answers in the world of Christianity, making people realize the love of God and experience the amazing ability of God as our Creator. The "Christianity and Literature" course can be possibly one of the best classes which serve the purpose. And enhancing the voluntariness of the students, as was done in the "Christianity and Literature" course, and is emphasized in this paper, plays an important part for the success of the class.
