| 국문 초록 | 본 연구는 21세기 사회복지사의 전문적 역할을 통해 사도 바울의 사역을 분석하고, ‘사회복지사 바울’(Paul, the Social Worker)이라는 신학적, 실천적 개념을 제시한다. 기존 바울 연구가 주로 신학, 선교, 교의학에 초점을 맞추었던 반면, 본 연구는 복음의 공공적 성격과 사회적 참여를 강조하며 그의 사역의 실천적 측면을 조명한다. 이 접근 방식은 현대 사회복지 전문가의 핵심 직무를 체계적으로 도출한 틀을 바울의 삶과 사역에 구체적으로 적용함으로써, 일반적인 교회 봉사나 광범위한 신학적 논의를 넘어선 새로운 재해석을 시도한다는 점에서 기존의 디아코니아 및 공공신학 담론과 차별화된다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 사회복지사에게 일반적으로 부여되는 여섯 가지 대표적인 역할, 즉 옹호자, 사례관리자, 상담자, 교육자, 조직가, 자원 식별자의 관점에서 바울의 활동을 고찰한다. 이러한 역할의 선정은 한국사회복지협의회(KNCSW)와 미국사회복지사협회(NASW)의 공식 직무 기술서 및 실천 표준 문헌에 대한 질적 내용 분석(Qualitative Content Analysis)에 기반을 두어, 견고하고 경험적으로 근거 있는 틀을 보장한다. 분석은 관련 성경 본문의 해석에 더욱 기반을 두며, 기독교 윤리, 디아코니아 신학, 공공신학의 광범위한 담론을 통합하여, 본 연구의 분석 틀이 어떻게 새로운 관점을 제공하는지 명확히 설명한다. 그 결과, 바울은 단순히 복음의 설교자가 아니라, 복음의 틀 안에서 지역사회 돌봄, 취약계층 옹호, 갈등 중재, 정서적·영적 지지, 교육, 그리고 참여적 리더십을 통합한 전인적 실천가로 재해석된다. ‘사회복지사 바울’ 개념은 그의 사역의 다면적인 차원을 포착하며, 복음 중심의 신앙과 전문 사회복지 실천을 통합하기 위한 신학적 모델을 제시한다. 따라서 본 연구는 기독교 사회복지사의 정체성에 대한 신학적 재구성에 기여하고, 지역교회의 통합적 돌봄 이니셔티브, 신학교 및 교단의 체계적인 교육 시스템, 그리고 공공신학 기반 실천 연구의 확장을 증진하고자 한다. |
| 영문 초록 | This study analyzes the ministry of the Apostle Paul through the lens of 21st-century social worker professional roles, proposing the theological and practical concept of "Paul, the Social Worker." While previous studies on Paul have primarily focused on theology, mission, and ecclesiology, this research highlights the practical aspects of his ministry, emphasizing the public nature of the gospel and its social engagement. This approach differentiates itself from traditional diaconal and public theology discourse by specifically applying a systematically derived framework of contemporary social work professionals' core duties to reinterpret Paul's life and work, moving beyond general concepts of church service or broad theological ideas. To that end, the study examines Paul's activities through six representative roles commonly attributed to social workers: advocate, case manager, counselor, educator, organizer, and resource identifier. The selection of these roles is based on a qualitative content analysis of official documents from the Korea National Council on Social Welfare(KNCSW) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW, USA), ensuring a robust and empirically grounded framework. The analysis is further grounded in interpretations of relevant biblical texts and incorporates the broader discourse of Christian ethics, diaconal theology, and public theology, explicitly detailing how its analytical framework offers a novel perspective. As a result, Paul is reinterpreted not merely as a preacher of the gospel, but as a holistic practitioner who integrated community care, advocacy for the vulnerable, conflict mediation, emotional and spiritual support, education, and participatory leadership within the framework of the gospel. The concept of "Paul, the Social Worker" captures the multifaceted dimensions of his ministry and offers a theological model for integrating gospel-centered faith and professional social work practice. This study thus seeks to contribute to a theological reconfiguration of Christian social worker identity and to promote integrated care initiatives in local churches, structured training systems within seminaries and denominations, and the expansion of public theology-based practice research. |
