| 국문 초록 | 이 논문은 최근 일어나고 있는 사립학교법 개정을 둘러싼 주요 논쟁들을 논의하고, 그러한 논쟁이 기독교교육에 주는 함의를 밝히기 위한 것이다. 이러한 목적을 위해, 이 논문에서는 개정 사립학교법의 주요내용과 이슈들을 살펴보고, 그러한 논의에 들어 있는 사립학교를 보는 관점과 정치적 시각의 한계를 지적하였다. 사립학교법은 부정적·소극적 입장이나 정치적 관점으로 접근할 것이 아니라 교육적인 관점에서 적극적으로 좋은 삶을 구현하는 방식으로 제정되어야 한다. 사립학교법 개정 논의가 기독교교육에 주는 의미는 두 가지다. 하나는 소극적 의미로서, 기독교교육을 표방하는 기독교계 학교가 지금까지 해온 교육에 대한 반성적·성찰적 의미를 드러내는 일이고, 다른 하나는 적극적 의미로서, 진정한 의미의 기독교교육 구현을 위한 가정과 기독교학교의 방향을 탐색하는 일이다. |
| 영문 초록 | Recently Korean society has sharply divided into two camps, ie. liberals and egalitarians. Egalitarians are not compatible with liberals concerning many educational issues including the private school law. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the debate on the revised private school law and its implications for Christian education. To accomplish this goal, I reviewed the main burning issues on the revised private school law, and pointed out the limitations of a view which uses the law for the political and ideological purposes. I assert that the private school law should be established or revised from an educational point of view rather than a political point of view. However, the revised private school law determined neither educationally nor democratically. Nonetheless, the debate on the revised private school law shed light on Christian education in two ways, ie. a negative and a positive one. On the one hand, it reflects seriously to what mission schools have existed for. It compels us to seek he direction of education which is based firmly on a Christian worldview on the other. |
