| 국문 초록 | 본 논문은 지금까지 주목을 받아야 했음에도 불구하고 호명되지 않았던 백도기의 <가룟 유다에 대한 증언>에 나타난 서술 상황을 욕망을 중심으로 해석하는 가운데 작가의 해석 방식 및 미학적 구현 양태를 탐구한 것이다. 지금 이 시점에서 가룟 유다를 테마로 한 소설을 탐구하고자 하는 것은 <다빈치 코드>에 이어 <유다복음서>가 공개된 이후, 기독교 신앙에 대한 비판과 내부의 질문이 연이어 생겨나기 때문이다. 물론 소설 작품 하나를 분석한다고 해서, 그것이 가룟 유다에 대한 신학적 물음과 논쟁점에 큰 보탬은 되지 못하겠지만 목사이면서 소설가인 백도기의 작품을 분석함으로 가룟 유다에 대한 여러 의문에 잘 대처하는데 도움이 되었으면 한다. 우선 서사의 토대가 되는 두 기본 행위소인 주체와 대상의 관계를 고찰하여 가룟 유다와 예수가 대상으로 삼고 있는 것이 무엇인가를 밝혔고, 다음으로 가룟 유다와 예수의 욕망의 거리를 서술 상황을 중심으로 논의하였다. 논의 결과를 정리하면, 주체인 가룟 유다는 땅의 이념을 대상으로 추구하고자, 예수가 지향하는 하늘의 이념의 궁극적인 의미를 알면서도, 자신의 이념인 대상을 끝까지 밀고 나간다. 한 마디로 주체인 가룟 유다는 자신의 이념이 적중될 것이라는 신념을 갖고 예수에게 활을 쏜 것이다. 여기서 목표 지향적인 한 인간의 실존을 만나게 되는데, 우리 또한 교만하면 가룟 유다처럼 동일한 운명에 처할 수 있다는 교훈을 작가의 목소리에서 읽어 낼 수 있다. |
| 영문 초록 | This paper aims to explore the narrative context of the sufficiently noteworthy yet undiscussed novel of Paik Dogi, Testimony to Judas Iscariot, while taking a look around varied aspects of aesthetic realization and defining human desire as its main theme. The reason why a novel on Judas Iscariot is to be examined at present is that, after the consecutive publication of Da Vinci Code and Gospel According to Judas, both the outer criticism against Christianity and the inner questions keep fueling controversy. A mere analysis of a novel may not contribute much to addressing all the theological questions and arguments on Judas Iscariot; however, it will surely help to deal with and dispose of certain doubts on him since the work was produced by a minister-turned novelist. Above all things, the two basic agencies subject and object are taken into consideration to shed light on what Jesus and Judas Iscariot had in mind. Then, the distance between Judas'''' and Jesus'''' desire is discussed with focus on the narrative context depicted in the novel. To sum up, the subject Judas Iscariot continues to push forward the object, namely, his ideology to the end so as to pursue his worldly goals despite the fact that they are totally different from the heavenly ideals that Jesus likes to pursue. Metaphorically saying, Judas Iscariot the subject shot an arrow into Jesus confidently believing that his ideology would hit the target. Here comes a goal-oriented human existence, and it approaches us as an aphorism that we too can share the same fate as him if we are conceited. The voice of the implied author tells us so. |
