이 논문의 목적은 한국에서 최근에 있었던 재물관 논쟁을 비판적으로 고찰하고, 그 논쟁의 부족한 점을 지적하여 보다 균형 잡힌 성경적 재물관을 제시하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 김동호(2001, 2005, 2009)의 견해를 중심으로 청부론을, 김영봉(2003)의 견해를 중심으로 청빈론을 정리하고, 이에 대한 이상원(2004)의 비판을 중심으로 재물관 논쟁을 평가하였다. 이 논문에서는 한국 기독교계의 재물관 논쟁이 문화관 및 세계관에 대한 논의에서 출발하지 않았으며, 거시경제적 고려가 부족해 저축을 통한 자본의 형성이 생산에 미치는 영향을 고려하지 않았다는 점 등을 지적하였다. 문화명령을 고려할 때 문화 활동, 경제성장 및 인간의 성취욕을 긍정적으로 평가할 수 있다는 것을 강조했다. 그리고 이러한 측면을 고려할 때, 청빈론은 절제를 넘어 금욕주의적인 견해라고 판단된다. 김동호(2001)의 청부론의 경우, 청부가 되려고 노력해야 한다는 것은 지나치지만, 이 점을 제외하고는 돈에 대한 관점, 소비와 저축에 대한 인식 등은 김동호의 견해가 보다 성경적으로 보다 균형 잡힌 시각이라고 판단된다.

The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the debate on the Christian perspectives of wealth and to stress of the importance of capital and production. For this purpose, the perspectives of Dongho Kim(2001, 2005, 2009) and of Youngbong Kim(2003) are explained. In this paper, it is stressed that the debate in Korea on this issue did not stem from the Christian world-view and lacked the macroeconomic perspective of the comprehensive understanding. If the cultural mandate is considered, desire for accomplishment, the cultural activity and economic development can be evaluated positively. And in this paper, the effects of accumulation of capital through savings are stressed, which is ignored in Korean Christian academic society. If we consider the economic achievement last 2 centuries, we can conclude that it is too ascetic to argue that all Christians should be poor through sharing all his belongings. Exception of the extreme argument that Christians also try to pursue to be rich, most of the argument of Dongho Kim''''s argument that Christian could be wealth, is more acceptable.
