This paper surfaces six secularized motives of modern academic activities : academic activity as a means of getting power, hidden motive of fragmented knowledge, human as a part in a big project, disappeared vision of absolute knowledge, liberating function of knowledge, excessive competition for the first discovery. After criticizing each motive, three Christian ideals in an academic persuit are briefly presented. |
