This study defines the world of work in which Logos, the Word of God, is embodied in Image in the tendency and development of contemporary Christian arts as Logos-ism. It also explores the theological foundation and the philosophical background of Logos-ism art and the esthetical meanings of Logos-ism art based on its embodiment, in order to understand that Logos-ism is not just a term to replace Christian arts, but is the core conceptual term in the culture of Christian arts.
It is shown in this paper that Creation has a meaning as the archtype of the creation of formative art, that it is not completed, but still progressive in that it constantly demands human participation, and that ceaseless observations and experimentations of art are made possible in the revelations through Creation. The fact of incarnation, which is the embodiment of Logos and the human body, serves as an excellent model for Christian culture and a foundation of Logos-ism art, which is the embodiment of Logos and images, because the esthetical factors found in the embodiment provides answers for the problems of superiority. This has been discussed for years in the history of philosophy and esthetics, between reason and emotion, and between truth and formality, at the same time having the alternative meaning which enables the integration of both categories.
Trying to reach for the biblical answer for a reconciliation and integration of Logos and images, which have been constantly conflicted with many struggles in the Scripture and over the history of church, this paper shows that the Bible does not approve idolized images for worship and the artistic inquiries to the extent where an image itself tries to bring itself up into the position of God the Creator, but by examining many cases of art works ordained and permitted in the Scripture, it confirms the values and meanings of art as a cultural calling, which is to serve the church and the world.

Furthermore, this paper arranges the roles and tasks of the Logos-ism community, which has grown up together with the revival movement of the Korean church and the growth of contemporary art, by dealing with conflicts and challenges of Logos-ism art caused by this mutual growth. It also tries to present that Logos-ism art not only means just literally translating the Scripture into images, but that it can accomplish a complete embodiment of Logos and images by the comprehension of the whole work dealing with and looking at nature, humankind ,and society with the eyes of Christian view based on the Scripture, and more completely by the process of practically offering the artist''s life responding to the calls of the Scripture.
In conclusion, this study suggests that Logos-ism art is a concept that surpasses the extent of Christian art as a certain religious art, and it can be approached and pursued as an expanded implication that is not limited by the boundaries of Christian themes and purposes.
