이 논문의 목적은 이승만 정부 농지개혁의 성과를 기독교적 관점에서 평가하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 농지개혁의 추진과정과 주요 내용을 살펴보았다. 그리고 평가를 위한 기독교적 기준으로 기독교를 용인하는 국가체제 형성에 대한 기여와 사랑에 기초한 경제정의라는 것을 도출했다. 이러한 기독교적 관점에서 이승만 정부의 농지개혁을 평가했다. 농지개혁은 반공국가의 성립에 크게 기여했으며, 이때 발행된 지가증권은 초기 산업자본의 형성을 통해 경제성장에 기여했다. 그리고 농업생산성이 획기적으로 증가했거나, 농가가 자립경영을 할 수 있는 수준까지 발전한 것은 아니었지만, 농지개혁을 통해서 식민지 지주제와 소작인의 수탈이 상당부분 사라졌으며, 약간의 생산성의 확장도 관찰되고, 사회적 약자인 소작인이 소농으로 전환되었기 때문에 농지개혁을 긍정적으로 평가할 수 있다고 결론을 내렸다. |

This paper evaluates the result of the Agricultural Land Reform under Syngman Rhee''s government from a standpoint of the Christian-world view. For the purpose of the evaluation, the process and main contents of the Agricultural Land Reform are examined. And the basis of Christianity is discussed for the purpose of evaluation. The state system that tolerates Christianity and economic justice based on love were considered as the most important criteria of the Christian evaluation. In such a viewpoint, the Agricultural Land Reform under Syngman Rhee''s government is evaluated. The Agricultural Land Reform contributed greatly to prevention of the communization of the southern part of Korea peninsula and the Agricultural Land securities issued by the government contributed to the formation of initial stages of the industrial capitalism. Although the farmer''s growth was not at the level of self-sufficiency, the agricultural productivity slowly increased and through the Agricultural Land Reform the exploitation of the tenants by the colonial landowners partially disappeared. |
