| 영문 초록 | 예술은 가치중립일 수가 없다. 예술은 예술가의 관점에 의한 형태와 색채를 통해 그 시대의 정신을 표현하기 때문이다. 따라서 현대예술의 흐름은 20세기의 정신을 나타내고 있다. 현대의 정신은 19세기의 사상적 흐름에 기초를 두고 있다. 前세기의 주된 사상은 계몽주의의 결과로써, 자연주의의 실증주의적 세계관이다. 그 세계관은 인간이 관찰하고 측정할 수 있는 사실에만 기초를 두고 있다. 따라서 눈으로 지각되는 실재만이 존재할 뿐이다. 이러한 논리적 과정에는 하나님이 개입될 수가 없기 때문에 이 세계에는 하나님이 존재하지 않는다. 이런 생각은 인간의 자기 인식에 영향을 미친다. 자연주의적 인간 존재는 의식을 가진 기계이다. 그것은 인간에게서 그의 참된 인간성과 개체성을 박탈한다. 따라서 수세기간 기독교와 인문주의의 사상에서 형성되었던 인간성은 변형되고 왜곡되었다. 이렇게 변형된 인간의 이미지는 현대예술의 전체적 경향에 나타난다. 현대예술에 나타난 인간의 이미지는 크게 네 가지로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 1. 인간의 영성이 상실되어 현존하는 현실에서만 존재하는 인간의 이미지 이 이미지는 19세기의 사실주의와 20세기 전·후반에 나타난 표현주의에서 찾아볼 수 있다. 이 인간의 이미지는 허무주의, 정말, 고통, 소외를 표현하며, 그것은 도한 부조리한 세계 내에 존재하는 반항자의 모습이다. 이것은 참된 인간성을 상실한 왜곡된 인간의 이미지이다. 2. 인간의 인격성이 상실되어 표현 형식의 도구가 된 인간의 이미지 이것은 인상파 화가들이 제기한 인식론적 질문에서부터 시작된다. 그것은 예술가들은 무엇을 그릴 것이며, 어떻게 관찰해야 하는가라는 지식의 문제이다. 이제 그들은 인간의 문제를 그림으로 표현하는 것이 아니라, 실제를 탐구하는 과학자적인 태도를 나타내게 된다. 이러한 실재의 탐구는 실재의 순간성, 혹은 영원성, 보편성과 절대성 그리고 순수성에 대한 것이다. 특히 이 경향은 현대예술의 모더니즘의 흐름을 주도하고 있다. 3. 인간의 영성이 하나님과의 관계를 떠나 신비주의와 결합함으로써 나온 이미지 이러한 경향은 윌리엄 블레이크의 성향과 라파엘 前派, 그리고 후기 인상파 화가들 중 종합주의자나 상징주의자들의 그림에서 자주 보인다. 현대에 와서는 몬드리안을 중심으로 한 `데 스틸` 그룹과 칸딘스키 등 몇몇 추상화가들, 그리고 초현실주의와 추상표현주의, 또 그 이후의 현대미술의 경향에서 이런 인간의 이미지나 메세지가 표현되고 있다. 4. 하나님과의 회복된 관계에서 얻은 참된 인간성의 이미지 하나님께서 본래 선하게 창조하셨던 인간의 이미지, 그리스도를 통해 구속되어 새롭게 거듭난 인간의 이미지가 이제 현대미술에서 탐구되어야 할 과제이다. 이런 참된 인간성이 회복되어야만 이 세상에 대한 희망을 찾을 수 있고, 예술과 삶에 있어 미적 차원의 위상을 높일 수 있다. 영문 초록 Art can not be neutral. Art expresses the zeitgeist by the method of form and colour from the artist`s point of view. The trend of Modern art, therefore, has revealed the spirit of the 20th century. The modern spirit is based on the thought of the 19th century. That thought is the positivistic world view in Naturalism as a result of Enlightenment. That world view is only based on the fact that man can observe and measure. Therefore, there is only the reality which is perceived by eyes. In this logical process, God cannot exist, since the world can not receive God`s presence. This idea has influenced on man`s self-recognition Naturalistic human being is a mechanism with a consciousness. This deprives human being of his true humanity and individuality. And the humanity which Christianity and Humanism have had for several centuries is finally distorted and transformed. So, this distorted human image has been represented in the modern art on the whole. We can largely divide human images into four types that have been expressed in the modern art. 1. The human image which loses his spirituality and exists in the present reality We can find this image in Realism of the 19th century, and Expressionism of the 20th century. This human image expresses nihilism, despair, pain and isolation. And it also is an image of revolter who lives in absurd world. This is a distorted human image lost his true humanity. 2. The human image which loses ones personality and becomes as a tool of the means of expression This began from the question of epistemology arisen by Impressionists. For artist, this is the question of intelligence, showing what to paint and what to see. Now artists did not paint human problem, but revealed their scientific attitudes to find a reality. This study of reality is about instantaneousness, eternity, university, absoluteness and purity in reality. Specially, this characters play a major part in Modernism. 3. The human image produced from the unification with Mysticism, apart from GOD It often appeared in the paintings of William Blake and the Pre-Raphaelites, as well as in Synthetism and Symbolism. In modern period, it is also expressed in the works of DE STUL group around Piet Mondrian, of Kandinsky, and some other abstract painters, including Surrealism and Abstract Expressionism, and so on. 4. The image of true humanity acquired from the restored relationship with GOD Now, The new-born image of men who created good by the hands of God and by Christ should be the subject of our future study on Modern art. By doing so, We can find our hope in this world by restoring this kind of true humanity and make the dimension of beauty both in art and life high. |
