본 연구의 목적은 기독 대학생의 우울이 자살생각을 유의미하게 예측하는지를 파악하고,영적 성숙 정도가 우울을 경험하는 기독 대학생의 자살생각에 미치는 부정적인 영향을 감소시키는 조절효과가 있는지 검증하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 H 대학교 신입생 중 기독학생 805명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 여학생이 남학생에 비해 우울, 영적 성숙 정도가 유의미하게 높았고, 경제수준이 낮을수록 영적 성숙이 유의미하게 높았으며 수시입학학생이 정시입학학생보다 영적 성숙이 높았고, 신앙생활기간이 길수록, 목회자 자녀가 일반자녀보다 영적 성숙이 높았다. 그러나, 성별, 경제수준, 신앙기간, 입학전형, 신앙생활기간, 목회자자녀여부에 따른 자살생각의 정도는 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 둘째, 우울과 자살생각은 정적 상관관관계가, 우울과 영적 성숙은 부적 상관관계가, 영적성숙과 자살생각은 부적 상관관계가 있었다. 셋째, 기독학생의 우울 정도는 자살생각 정도를 유의미하게 예측하였다. 즉, 우울 정도가 심할수록 자살생각을 많이 하는 것으로 파악되었다. 넷째, 기독학생의 우울과 자살생각과의 관계에 있어서 영적 성숙의 조절효과가 있는 것으로 나타나, 우울을 경험하는 기독 대학생의 영적 성숙도가 자살생각을 경감시키는 보호요인임을 확인하였다. 이를 바탕으로 기독 대학생들의 영적 성숙을 위한 교회와 기독 대학의 적극적인 노력의 필요성을 언급하였다. 자살에 이르게 하는 정신건강요인에 대한 탐색을 위해 정신건강에 대한 사정의 필요성과 영성 탄력성 증진 프로그램의 개발, 기독교적 세계관에 근거한 자살예방교육 내용의 개발과 적극적인 자살예방교육의 필요성을 제안하였고, 기독 대학 내에 자살예방과 자살문제에 개입할 수 있는 전문가 확보의 필요성과 영적 성숙을 위한 프로그램 개발을 제안하였다. |

This study examined the moderating effect of spiritual maturity on the relationship between depression and suicidal ideation of Christian college students. For this research, total 805 Christian students participated in a survey from a Christian college. The survey results revealed a positive correlation between depression and suicidal ideation, a negative correlation between depression and spiritual maturity, and a negative correlation between spiritual maturity and suicidal ideation. Depression predicted suicidal ideation significantly. In addition, spiritual maturity moderated between depression and suicidal ideation of Christian college students. Spiritual maturity can decrease suicidal ideation of Christian college students with depression. These findings indicate that the level of depression influences the level of suicidal ideation of Christian college students, so it needs to assess the level of depression of students. And spiritual maturity decreases suicidal ideation of Christian college students with as a protective factor, so it needs to develop the programs to increase spiritual maturity for Christian college students. |
