As the parent - child relationship develops, it could have various effects and big influences on the development and growth of children, which attitudes of child rearing their parents take. The purpose of this study are to find the child-rearing attitudes among parents of the case in The Old Testment. And finally, based on these findings, to suggest direction for developing much needed effectiveness educational program for Christian parents. Cases and morals written in The Old Testment has been analyzed on the view point of criteria and bases for child rearing, to make this comparative study between Bible and current theory. Today`s theory tell us that come out all right. Especially, Schaefer suggests that the effective - autonomous attitude is most desirable. A child who has this type of parent appears a creative, spontaneous and cooperative attitude. Then, The Old Testment have adviced good attitudes based on the authority and right affection with disciplinary action and measurt. Some implication that it conflict with current attitudes will have to be discussed on. A deep consideration of this conflicts will have to be followed just by the next study of child rearing attitudes issued in The New Testment. |
