| 국문 초록 | 본 연구의 목적은 그림책 서사에 나타난 죽음관을 4가지 유형으로 나누어 제시하고 이것을 기독교적 죽음관과 비교 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 죽음을 다루고 있는 아동 대상의 그림책 13권을 선정하였고 이 도서들이 재현하고 있는 죽음과 그 의미, 사후세계에 대한 이해를 글의 서사와 그림의 기호학적 의미를 통해 도출하고자 하였다. 이러한 분석의 결과로서 죽음을 다루고 있는 많은 도서들이 다양한 죽음관을 재현하는 것을 발견할 수 있었으며 사후세계를 그리고 있는 그림책에도 다양한 세계관이 반영되어 있다는 사실을 확인하였다. 이로써 본 연구는 죽음에 대한 교육이 죽음의 개념 인지교육뿐 아니라 사후의 불확실성의 영역까지 포함해야 하는 신념과 주관성의 영역이라는 이해를 가지고, 교육자인 성인이 자신의 기독교적 세계관을 반영하는 도서를 선정해야 하는 일과 읽기 활동 시 아동과의 상호작용을 통해 의미를 재구성하는 일의 중요성을 논의하였다. 나아가 본 연구는 죽음과 하나님 나라에 대한 기독교적 논의를 바탕으로 죽음을 다루고 있는 그림책에 나타난 비성경적 요소를 분석해 보이면서 죽음 너머의 세계 인식에 대한 저자의 거듭난 상상력과 비평가의 세계관 해석 능력을 강조하였다. |
| 영문 초록 | This study examines 4 types of understanding on death appearing in picture books and argues that there are different perspectives from the Christian point of view in them. Thirteen books which deal with the theme of death are selected and analyzed based on the words and the pictures of these books in a literal and semiotic level in order to draw the authors’ ideas of death and afterlife. As a result, it is revealed that these picture books show diverse views on death; firstly, not a few of the books reflect the ideas of ‘atomism’ ‘agnosticism’ and ‘immorality of the soul’ on death. These viewpoints contain certain educational purposes in order to minimize children’s grief. Secondly, all the books in 'belief in afterlife' include the idea that we cannot judge it in a single viewpoint. Only a small minority of books has Christian faith-based viewpoints even in the picture books dealing with afterlife. In this respect, this study emphasizes the importance of the adults’ role not only in choosing the books with regard to the worldview but also in reconstructing the meaning of contents in co-reading the books with children. This study also investigates the elements of non-truth concerning death and the concept of the Kingdom of God in these books from the view of Christian faith. Finally, it is argued that the authors’ born-again imagination and the critics’ ability to interpret the authors’ hidden views on life and death are crucial for shaping a desirable Christian worldview for children. |
