Computers, electronics, telecommunications - the information technologies - will play a major role in the technological future because of its high potentiality in promoting economic development. As profound and pervasive as the effects of information technology have been thus far, their future impacts are likely to be much more so. It will change the work place, education, health, privacy, crime and cities whatever. During the next few decades the survival of humanity and even Christianity may depend on how information technology is applied. Christians must be aware of the idolatry of the new technology and should provide alternative which can be carefully controlled and returned to a God`s norms especially our responsibility to seek the Kingdom of God. A transformed technology in Christian perspective must be supported, encouraged, and held accountable by Christian communities. |
