| 국문 초록 | 본 논문은 한국 장로교의 신학적 기초를 놓은 박형룡(1897-1978)의 박사학위 논문의 개요를 분석 제시하고자 한다. 박형룡이 쓴 "자연과학으로부터의 반기독교적 추론(1931년 미국 남침례교 신학교)"이라는 논문은 과학과 신앙의 관계에 관한 주제를 다룬 것이다. 그는 이 논문에서 자연과학에서 이끌어낸 잘못된 추론들로 인해 과학과 신앙이 충돌된다고 주장하는 것에 대해서 자연과학을 제대로 연구하면 신앙과 충돌되지 않는다는 것을 밝히고자 했다. 박형룡의 논문은 모두 6장으로 구성되어 있으며 논문의 주제를 다루고 있는 1장에서 시작하여 성경, 하나님의 존재, 하나님의 사역, 인간 본성에 대한 고등한 견해, 죄와 구원에 대한 고등한 견해에 대항하는 반기독교적인 추론들을 다루고 있다. 박형룡은 자연과학으로부터 제기되는 신앙에 대한 공격은 과학과 종교간의 관계에 대한 잘못된 이해 때문이라고 한다. 과학이 인류에 기여한 측면은 분명히 있지만 과학에도 한계가 있는데 그 한계를 인식하지 못하고 과학으로 인생의 모든 부분을 설명하려고 했기 때문이라고 설명한다. 그가 제시하는 과학과 종교의 바른 관계는 과학이 종교의 기반이 되고, 종교는 과학을 완성시키는 것이다. 이런 바른 관계를 설정한다면 과학에 근거하여 기독교를 공격하지는 않게 될 것이다. 그런데 과학과 종교의 관계를 대립관계로 두는 사람들은 과학을 근거로 기독교를 공격한다. 사실 과학이 기독교와 충돌하는 것은 과학으로부터 잘못된 추론을 이끌어내어 기독교를 공격하는 것이다. |
| 영문 초록 | This article aims to present the synopsis of Dr. Hyung Nong Park''''s Anti-Christian Inferences from Natural Science rather than some perfect analyses of it. At first, this article discuss the Sitz in Leben that is indissoluble for his theology and thereafter outline and analyze his doctoral dissertation. Throughout his doctoral dissertation, he had in mind the idea of the identity and relation of natural science and religion(or faith). In the view of Dr. Park, it is to distinguish natural science itself from unlawful inferences from natural science that it is required as priority in order to maintain the lawful relation of religion and natural science. As Park mentions, "natural science aims only to describe the phenomena of nature by the inductive method." If natural science try to go beyond its own limitations to be (as a closed system) naturalism or materialism by the arrogant oversimplification, inevitably it will infringe on the realm and right of religion. Dr. Park emphasizes that both religion and natural science don''''t exclude nor replace nor even collide each other. As Bible is "not textbook of science but a history of redemption", so valid natural science is no philosophy nor religion nor "-ism" but rational and inductive explanation of the law of nature. All unlawful inferences from natural science isn''''t based on valid scientific facts but on naturalism, materialism and anti-supernatural closed system that leave no room for the almighty-personal-living God. Natural science has a descriptive function not prescriptive one, is science not religion and is not able to redeem humans and create God''''s Kingdom. If natural science produce real scientific knowledges, natural science has to remain in its own place not at all to pretend itself to be religion. Then, Only then, natural science can bring some beautiful and beneficient results. What is more, Natural Science, reverently studied, makes the investigator the better Christian! |
